WHAT WE DO:
- Christmas Outreach: we set a target to bless 200 children with a christmas gift. Care Club Foundation reached and exceeded the target by distributing 250 gifts.
- Stationery packs: basic school stationery packs as and when needed.
- Grocery and food packs to families in need: during our marketing and fundraising activities, we instead received many requests for assistance for basic food and necessities. We distribute more than 8 family grocery packs every month.
- Birthday Party Initiative: A simple cake to celebrate a birthday can be unachievable for some. As simple as it is, this mere provision of a personalised cake, party packs and a gift brings such joy and hope to young and vulnerable children.
- Training and Development Centre: The vision is greater with long lasting, sustainable and measurable outcomes. We will provide entrepreneurship, administration, artisan and work ethic training to disadvantaged and vulnerable youth and women, thereby creating an individual that is employable or self employable. It does not stop there because through the training process and interaction, we will be able to assess where best to market each trainee. We will then be able to place these individuals in the workplace by marketing their abilities and skill sets. Care Club members have vast experience in the catering industry spanning over 20 years. It is our aim, at the subsequent phase in our growth to create a working industrial kitchen. This catering facility will have multiple uses. It will be used for training of youth and women. It will be used as a source of income and employment generation for Care Club as well as the facility to prepare meals for our feeding schemes.
- Recreational/ Day Care Centre for the Aged: During our outreaches and feeding projects we noticed that our aged members can be lonely and look forward to the interaction, possibly more than the meals itself. We have identified that a recreational centre is a need that will provide an activity centre to break the monotony, boredom and loneliness to these very important members of society.
- Matric Dance Dresses/Gowns: We have been exposed to the fact that many young ladies can not and do not attend their MD function because they cannot afford a suitable dress/gown for this once in a lifetime event. Care Club will intervene by providing at least 5 dresses for this cause this year.
- Feeding scheme/ food security: In addition to our current food security initiatives to the homeless and old age we are now setting up to assist a school for disabled children in Pietermaritzburg, KZN.
- Support for other community organisations: There are many community organisations that lack support and resources, but they are doing great work to uplift their environments. We see ourselves as being able to fill that gap between donors and these organisations. We are able to provide the necessary business and compliance requirements that will encourage donors to invest in our causes.
- Children and youth sport development: We have recently embarked on a project to introduce free volleyball training to schools. We believe that we can reach a very vulnerable age group and instil in them important qualities by this exciting, but often neglected sport.
